VR is NOW!

How KEYFRAME is answering the call by creating a full service VR Studio

Remember when the cell phone was a cinder block-sized behemoth? When a computer with the processing power of a personal desktop was the size of a living room? There was a time when having personal computers and mobile phones, as we have today, was science fiction. To say we’ve come a long way would be an understatement.

As the unfortunate worldwide COVID-19 pandemic drives a rethinking of everything from conducting remote meetings to content creation, the adoption of XR approaches is rising across industry sectors. As a Polygon post states, “Virtual reality, as a technology, is uniquely suited to help with so many challenges people are experiencing while staying inside.” A Guardian article also points out: “The pandemic, incredibly, is ushering in a golden age of virtual media, making good on the initial promise of digital, while offering new life and unprecedented access to some of the world’s cultural touchstones, some previously financially or physically inaccessible. While the world has never felt more physically isolated, digital media have offered a bridge, as well as an exciting range of experiences.”

KEYFRAME has adopted a new mission to mirror the evolving XR trajectory. After many years of creating campaigns and events at the intersection of electronic music, regenerative culture, and media, KEYFRAME is now offering XR services.

KEYFRAME is a creative technology agency that produces engaging, fully interactive XR experiences for startups and festivals. Founder-CEO Julian Reyes has worked for notable companies such as Cisco Systems, Juris Corporation, Jacobs Associates, and Exponent over the past 20 years. His professional experience applying 3D animation ranges from areas such as demonstrative evidence to engineering and medical prototypes. Julian is the Executive Producer of Andrew Johner’s “Electronic Awakening”, “The Bloom Series” Episode 3, and the community book project, “ReInhabiting the Village.”

KEYFRAME’s achievements in VR include being selected as a finalist for Mars City Design of BoreDome, and executive producing Fifer Garbesi’s ‘Con Te Damanhur,’ a Virtual 360° gamified experience of Italy’s Damanhur.

KEYFRAME’s new XR services carefully analyze client objectives and generate an accurate depiction of consumer products or services in VR. It offers turnkey immersive solutions for Training & Development, Product Demos, Prototypes, and Visualizations.

To bring these XR solutions to clients, KEYFRAME is working with a top-notch team and seasoned advisors, as well as establishing mutually beneficial partnerships to navigate the thriving XR industry. As social distancing and working from home becomes increasingly common, virtual conferencing adoption is growing rapidly.

As stated in a Forbes article, “an additional benefit of VR is that all distractions are removed and people can be fully focused on what is happening around them.” According to KEYFRAME networking partner MeetinVR, there is a 25% increase in attention span when meeting in VR compared to video conferencing. MeetinVR is the first social VR platform in Denmark and a worldwide top 10 social VR app for business, enabling users to meet in interactive VR spaces.

Per Forbes, “one of the problems with online-only conferences is that it is very hard to convey some of the nuances of things without having some spatial sense of presence. That’s where immersive applications like AR and VR can help by giving people something more engaging and visually appealing than a 2D video.”

We are also proud to be partnered with the VR/AR Association (VRARA), an international organization designed to foster collaboration between innovative companies and brands in the VR and AR ecosystem. VRARA promotes and supports VR/AR chapters in cities throughout the world. Their VR/AR Global Summit Online Conference + Expo will be held on September 16-18th, 2020.

As past and present conditions have shown, there is little doubt that XR will become a bigger part of our lives. Even in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Oculus Quest VR headset has been selling out. According to CMSWire, “Gartner [has] predicted that by 2022, 70% of enterprises will be experimenting with immersive technologies for consumer and enterprise use, and 25% will have deployed them to production.” Furthermore, “AR and VR solutions…allow professionals whose job is to be there in person, such as field inspectors, technicians, production line managers, and medical specialists, to conduct their jobs remotely without compromising accuracy, effectiveness, or productivity.”

Tech companies are reallocating their conference budgets given Shelter In Place. While distancing is a barrier to overcome, it need not hold us back from productivity in product ideation, innovation, training or development. KEYFRAME provides turnkey solutions for product demos, prototypes, and visualizations and can bring your products and services to life in Virtual Reality (VR). https://keyframe-entertainment.com/
