Doof – Balashwaar Baksheesh (KEYFRAME EDIT) (Jan 16, 2016) – https://avatarmusic.bandcamp.com/track/doof-balashwaar-baksheesh
Nicholas Barber (born 31 August 1968), better known by the stage name Doof, is best known as a London-based psychedelic trance musician. Doof’s first official release was in 1993 with NovaMute, the dance label run by Mute Records, a three-track EP titled “Disposable Hymns to the Infinite”. It was through Novamute label-mates Juno Reactor and Ben Watkins that Doof was first introduced to producer Youth (of Killing Joke/ Brilliant), Simon Posford, also known as Hallucinogen, and the Dragonfly Records label. Doof went on to release “Double Dragons” as a 12″ with Dragonfly in 1994, and to produce a series of tracks in partnership with Simon Posford, including “Let’s Turn On”, “Born Again” and “Angelic Particles”. It was through his friendship with Simon Posford that Doof was introduced to Raja Ram (Shpongle/The Infinity Project/Quintessence) who later that year would start the highly influential trance label T.I.P Records. Doof’s “Let’s Turn On” (co-produced with Simon Posford) became the second ever T.I.P 12″ release. This was followed in 1995 by another 12″ for T.I.P (Angelina/Weird Karma), the Born Again EP on Matsuri and another 12″ for Dragonfly (“Youth of the Galaxy”). 1995 also saw numerous Doof remixes, including tracks by Hallucinogen and The Infinity Project.
In April 2015, Let’s Turn On was re-released by DAT Records in a remastered and expanded double CD version, featuring vintage alternate mixes of all the original tracks. One reviewer nominated it “the greatest Goa trance album of all time”. In early 2015, he started work as composer for the soundtrack of Bruce Parry’s forthcoming documentary ‘Quest’. The film was eventually released under the title Tawai, A Voice from the Forest in September 2017. The original soundtrack album with music by Barber was also released at the same time.

Carbon Based Lifeforms – Dreamshore Forest – Analog Remake (March 9, 2020) https://carbonbasedlifeforms.bandcamp.com/track/dreamshore-forest-analog-remake
Carbon Based Lifeforms (CBL) are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Segerstad (né Ringström), both born in 1976 and based in Göteborg, south-west Sweden. They met at the tender age of 15 and are still, amazingly, working happily together, almost 20 years later.. CBL signed with the celebrated Lyon-based Ultimae label in 2002 and have since released two full-length albums (Hydroponic Garden in 2003, and World of Sleepers in 2006). Both albums have been extraordinarily well received by connoisseurs within the ambient scene. The goal of CBL is “to combine earth and space in fine-tuned, but still solid, musical visions, seldom forgetting the irreplaceable TB-303”.

The development of Russian underground and appearance of public events at the end of nineties became a reason of recording compilations of various genres and directions. Time passed, the idea of producing electronic music expanded. That initiated the beginning of the creation of the first own compositions in the genre of techno sound in 2004.The musician started to go deeply into trance sub-styles more and more, search his own sound, make experiments crossing Techno and Trance. These two streams gave the beginning to the new creative way. He began to study basis of producing modern sound of high quality. In 2007 works posted for free downloading received a lot of positive feedback from listeners and musicians. After long treatment the sound slowly transformed into psy format with atmospheric background canonicity and melodic sound, making a certain tint of Ambient genre.

Jason Knight – We Become (Sept 16, 2010) https://www.beatport.com/release/we-become/278837
With fifteen years of music production and DJ experience, a stellar list of club appearances, countless original productions including a full-length album, Jason has emerged as one of the most respected and talented artists in the San Francisco Dance Music scene. Jason grew his musical roots in Philadelphia, PA, where his band The Mariner Nine exploded onto the Indie music scene with over 90 songs recorded and two national tours spanning seven years. In 1997, a keen interest in studio production led to the opening of Miner Street Studios, a fully equipped analog studio that remains amongst the best in the Philadelphia area. Once introduced to the urban sounds of Drum & Bass, Jason followed his love of the beat to San Francisco in 1999 and began DJing that same year. Exposed to the many genres of electronic music, Jason soon made a deep connection with Progressive House, Techno and Trance. He distinguished himself from the crowded DJ scene by founding SDR Productions, intent on providing solid underground dance experiences for those seeking an alternative to the mainstream club scene. These efforts resulted in peaking the interest of several prominent promoters and garnered Jason headline acts at such venues as the DNA Club, Ruby Skye and 1015 Folsom. The 2002 Burning Man Festival solidified Jason’s diverse appeal when he played a morning set to over 500 crazed dancing party people in what was to be his most memorable set to date. Jason’s creative urges soon turned back to music production, and his DJing took a backseat as he pursued his lifelong dream of completing a full-length album of original music. The result of this focus was the 2005 release “As Wide As An Open Sky”, featuring nine emotional, hard driving, deep trance tracks. But Jason hasn’t stopped there. In the short time since the release of the album, Jason resumed djing on the national circuit and has shared the decks with artists such as Armin Van Buuren, Sander Van Doorn, DJ Lange, Cosmic Gate, Blank & Jones, John 00 Flemming, Taj, Flash Brothers and Pole Folder. He’s appeared at the 2006 Ultra Music Festival and Miami’s Winter Music Conference 2007. He also played the first Vegas Music Conference in 2006, is an integral member of the Coda SF Dance Music Collective and continues to be a key player at all the major clubs in the San Francisco Bay Area. His trance remix of “Virtual Spectrum” landed on Rapid Response Recordings in early 2007, gaining a positive review from Christopher Lawrence. His feverish production schedule found another 3 song EP released in the Spring of 2008 titled Thermal which was soon followed by the White Remixes, the summer hit single off of Thermal that includes 3 remixes by prominent producers in the bay area. Jason’s command of his style and his ear for the future has him poised to unleash his music upon the global dance community.
