Keyframe-Cinema Screening Platform FAQs

Keyframe-Cinema is an online web resource that allows Electronic Music filmmakers to share their movies with fans, film buffs, and festivals. These Electronic Music films are then licensed to Screening Partners that organize community film screenings.

This is not a place where people can stream or buy films since this website is designed only for facilitating physical film screenings.

This catalog of Electronic Music films aims to document and preserve the evolution of the culture through community screenings (public, university, film festivals, etc).

FAQ for filmmakers

Screening Rights

Keyframe-Entertainment seeks non-exclusive rights to offer your film as part of our online library of films available for community and public screenings. There is NO COST to the Filmmaker whatsoever. Individuals and communities interested in becoming Screening Partners agree to our sublicense that grants the right to publicly screen Filmmakers’ film(s), complete the screening agreement online, pay associated screening fees, schedule the screening date/time and Keyframe responds with a link to a digital version of your film.

*How is the screening fee split?

Distribution of the screening fee is fully automated.

As we launch Keyframe-Cinema, the introductory rate of 70% of every screening fee collected goes to the filmmaker (you).

After the introductory rate, any filmmakers joining the Keyframe-Cinema will be subject to a different rate. Filmmakers signing up now will remain at the 70-30 split (introductory rate).

30% is then dedicated as follows:

  • 15% goes to Keyframe-Entertainment and is used specifically to promote, market, share and spread the word about our conscious community projects – upcoming screenings, events and announcements on new releases, press releases, etc.  This includes marketing and promotions.

  • 15% covers administrative and Technology costs / web developers / technical support.

*How do I upload my film?

Once you have completed the registration and joined Keyframe-Cinema, you will be contacted directly by Terra with instructions on where to send the digitally formatted version of your film.  All films offered in our catalog are in digital format. All films are stored on a secured server, accessible only by you, Keyframe Administrative Staff and Keyframe-Cinema Screening Partners who have purchased rights to screen your film.

Email Terra at Terra .at. keyframe-entertainment.com.

*Can I just mail you a copy of my DVD?

No.

*Is a trailer of my film required?

Yes.

*Can I just send a link to my Vimeo page of my trailer?

No. We need a high resolution digital file.

*What other information is needed about the film?

We need an Electronic Press Kit:

Film synopsis, summary, length of film, Directors / Producer credits, organization info (if the film is related to a specific organization, non-profit or cause), web url, film genre + sub-genre and graphic images for promotional materials.

*What does Keyframe do with the Press EPK?

Once the screening agreement is complete and screening fee paid, Keyframe-Entertainment sends a basic *digital press kit* to each Screening Partner.

*What other digital media should I send?

The film’s poster, logo, and additional graphic images / photos.

*Connecting with your Audience

*Biography – a single paragraph, 3-5 sentence description of persons affiliated with your film such as the Director, Writer, Producer.

*Q&A – Screening Partners are encouraged to enhance the content of each screening through audience participation.  This could include Q&A’s with the film’s Director or persons who were subjects in the film, along with persons related to the subject matter of the film (an area specialist could answer questions on Permaculture, for example).

The Question / Answer time is meant to work with the art of conversation, the simple impact of dialog to create a more memorable and meaningful connection between the audience and the film being screened.

Keyframe-Cinema Screening Partners may enhance community screening events by offering Q&A sessions with Directors and other persons affiliated with your film.

*Following each screening, Partners return feedback on the film:

How well-attended the screening was

Feedback on the venue (as applicable)

Audience reaction to the film

Screening Partner’s own thoughts or reaction to the film.

Audience participation and reaction to Q&A’s or other enhanced content presenters (Receptions, Workshops, After-parties).
